Introduction and Purpose

Welcome to the application form for the Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) Get Active Community Grant 2025-2026.

The purpose of local government is to play a broad role in promoting the social, economic, environmental and cultural wellbeing of communities. The Get Active Community Grant provides QLDC with the ability to support not-for-profit organisations and charities that benefit the health and wellbeing of the community by providing access to the Queenstown Event Centre, Wānaka Recreation Centre and Paetara Aspiring Centrals' facilities. This supports QLDC Sport & Recreation’s mission to encourage more people to be more active, more often. This also connects with our communities’ Vision Beyond 2050 outcome for Thriving people | Whakapuāwai Hapori – “Ours is a community with a strong heart and whānau roots that run deep."

Please familiarise yourself with the eligibility criteria before beginning your application. Applications to the Get Active Community Grant are welcomed from new or previous grant recipients.

If you have any questions regarding the grant, please email marie.schmidt@qldc.govt.nz

We thank you for your time and work and look forward to reviewing your application.
