We provide or administer a range of funding opportunities to help support local initiatives and events to promote community wellbeing and sustainability.

Upcoming QLDC’s funding rounds: 

  • QLDC Events Fund 2025-2026 (opens 1-30 April 2025) - This annual contestable fund is open for both commercial and community events.

  • QLDC Community Fund 2025-2026 (opens 1-30 April 2025) - This annual contestable fund is open to community groups and not-for-profit organisations seeking funding that benefits the community.

  • QLDC Heritage Incentive Grant (opens 1-30 April 2025) - This grant can be made to the owners of listed heritage items (natural and built) in the Queenstown Lakes District.

  • QLDC Waste Minimisation Community Fund (opens 14 April - 30 May 2025) - This fund is aimed at waste reduction and resource recovery ideas that will move the community toward zero waste.

 

Training Opportunities & Funding Resources

Join a workshop from The Funding Series, a collaborative initiative strengthening the capability of non-profits and supporting sustainable funding strategies.

The Funding Series runs seven workshops from late March to June and is open to individuals, groups, and organisations seeking funding for projects, operations, or events. This free, ticketed event is sponsored by QLDC.

You can also watch a webinar about the Events Fund, Community Fund, and Waste Minimisation Community Fund. This webinar was held on Monday 15 April 2024; however, while the funding dates have changed, the information remains relevant.
